The much-awaited gathering was held at Mr Leow Siak Fah's home on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
It was our pleasure to have our guest speakers, Ms Daisy Irani and her husband, Mr Subin Subaiah to share with us their recent experience in staging the multi-cultural play "Rafta Rafta", from scripting, casting and acting to set and lighting design.
The program followed by two songs – Youkali and Surabaya Johnny - sung by Gabrielle Maes, our OV Club member, accompanied by John Sharpley on piano. Both pieces are written by Kurt Weill. Her voice not only thrilled the room but also touched the hearts of everybody...

In a Show & Tell session using a piano and multimedia presentation, John demonstrated the characteristics of Baroque music extending into buildings and paintings of the movement. After tea and a constructive exchange of views on opera and its development in Singapore, the audience was treated to a surprise – an impromptu performance by piano prodigy Mervyn Lee.
